We are seeking engineers from all walks of like to join our in-person team in Calverton New York. You will work on real engineering projects across multiple disciplines, applying your knowledge to real time production challenges. This position will involve the prototyping, design, manufacture, and testing of various mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Assist with engineering projects from concept through implementation
Apply engineering fundamentals to solve real-world technical problems
Support design, analysis, prototyping, testing, and iteration efforts
Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines
Use engineering tools, software, and equipment relevant to assigned tasks

Must Have

Two (2+) or greater experience in an engineering discipline (or closely related field)
Ability to work in person for the duration of your employment
Design skills for concept generation progression
Ability to prototype your own designs in the machine shop
Skill in 3D CAD & in creating well-specified drawings
Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
Enjoy hands-on, cross-disciplinary work
Reliable mode of transportation.
Reliable, punctual, and professional in an in-person setting
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Nice to have

Experience with CAD Software, such as Fusion 360, Solidworks, CREO, NX, Autodesk.
Industrial or Commercial 3D printing experience
Experience with running CNCs
Familiarity with manufacturing, prototyping, or lab/shop environments
Previous hands-on project experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Mechanical Engineers will be trained and expected to be able to set-up, operate, and conduct basic programming so that they can complete projects from design to production.

Practical Engineering Design & Development

Here at SQ4D, you'll learn our #1 slogan for design, KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid!). SQ4D Mechanical Engineers are the tip of the spear when it comes to implementing the KISS model. It will be your role to continually utilize principles like Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Service to ensure the ARCs ecosystem is KISSed from start to finish.

Integrate Operator Feedback for Continual Improvement

Mechanical Engineers at SQ4D must always keep Ease of Operation at the front of their mind -- You can design the "best" component but if it not intuitive, well documented, or requires excessive time to implement you can bet the operators will point it out. When (or if) they do it is important to evaluate the component to make their lives easier.
